Culture is important. By culture we mean the arts, music, literature and heritage.
We see culture as a priority. We believe in it for its own sake and in supporting it with public funds.
Culture is central to our society and our sense of nationhood.
Culture empowers; it is hugely important in developing confidence, skills and employability. It makes a vital contribution to other key areas of public life including health, education and regeneration.
